Content is the information and experiences directed towards an end-user or an audience. With Maropost, you can create your content using the many functions of the editor or by pasting  your HTML code into the source of the editor. The content editor also gives you the option to upload an HTML file. Additionally, there is another option for entering plain text, which displays the basic text of the content on devices where HTML is not supported. In order to create content, follow the steps mentioned below:

To create new content, please follow these steps:

1. Hover your cursor over the Maropost logo and click ‘Email’.

4. Once you see the content editor, enter a name for your new content.

5. On the left-hand side of the content editor, you will see your images and image folders. To use these images, you can either drag & drop an image into the content editor or you can copy and paste the image URL into a ‘href’ element.

*If you wish to use previously created templates in your content, you can select it from the template dropdown menu.*

6. There are two different options in the ‘Create Content’ page in which you can design your content. You can either create the entire content using the editor tools (e.g. drag & drop images, copy & paste text), or you can use the source button (top left of the editor) to paste any HTML code.

7. One of the most important components of the content editor is the multiple ‘tags’ options. Maropost has embedded campaign tags, contact tags, other tags, dynamic tags*, and table tags** into the editor.

*You need to create dynamic areas before using dynamic tags.

**Activation required for table tags.

Check the ‘content tags’ section for a detailed explanation of tags in the content editor.

8. Once the content is created, you can either select ‘Default footer’ or a ‘Custom footer’ at the bottom of the editor page, then click ‘Save’.

9. Upload HTML File is another feature to create content with Maropost. This option allows you to upload an HTML file which contains your content’s source code, which in turn will create content in Maropost. Below the content field, you will find the option to upload your HTML file. After your file has been uploaded and the HTML code is visible in the editor field, click the ‘Save’ button.

This step ensures that you adhere to unsubscribe and identification requirements as outlined in our anti-spam policy. These items are also required by anti-spam legislations like CASL and CAN-SPAM.

For a more detailed explanation of footers, please check the ‘Footer Management’ support section.
